DICK PALAZZO | PRESIDENT AND CEO
Dick Palazzo is a lifelong professional in the field of pet care.
In the seventies he teamed up with a veterinarian to establish the nation’s first enclosed controlled -environment and full-service pet boarding, grooming and training facilities…revolutionizing the pet care industry. By concentrating on social interaction, Dick established leash-free indoor and outdoor environments that promote stress reduction and healthier living. This concept was the catalyst for “Doggie Daycare”. His innovation and insightfulness next led to the invention of the “pet shield”.
Dick is a graduate of St. Leo University and attended the University of Florida for Veterinarian Medicine. He graduated from the Volhard School for Dog Training, the Stanton School of Dog Grooming and holds certificates from Cornell Behavioral Studies and the University of Guelph. He received his practical training and experience with Sinclair Eaton and Tom Macek training dogs for police and military.
Fifty years later Purr’n Pooch continues to excel and innovate the best in pet care under his guidance.

The Purr’n Pooch Pet Resorts have been owned and operated by the Palazzo Family for more than 50 years. Each family member plays an integral role in the operation and management of the Resorts. We are also honored to work with a dedicated team of more than 80 employees, many who have been with our family for more than 25 years and help to operate our facilities and intimately care for our clients.
Pets are our passion and it shows in all that we do from our luxury amenities and services to the minute details in our building designs to the familiar faces working year after year at our facilities.
