Wall Township – Pet owners got the opportunity to show just how much they love their pets this Valentine’s Day at Purr‘n Pooch Pet Resorts.
Both of the Purr’n Pooch locations, one in Wall Township and one in Tinton Falls, celebrated the holiday by setting up a kissing booth where visitors could show some love for their furry friends.
Both facilities also collected donations for the Purr’n Pooch Foundation for Animals, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing support to animal rescue groups.
Owners picking up their pets from daycare at Purr’n Pooch on Valentine’s Day last Thursday could stop to strike a pose with their pet in the kissing booth, with a donation recommended. All of the proceeds went to the Purr’n Pooch Foundation for Animals.
Betsy Palazzo-Dudick, president of the foundation and daughter of Purr’n Pooch Pet Resorts owners Dick and Mary Palazzo, said the foundation hosts a variety of events throughout the year, such as an annual run and a “Black Tails” gala to raise money. In the four years since the foundation was founded, it has awarded $40,000 in grants to other animal groups for different projects.
The foundation also recently raised money to help pets in need after Hurricane Sandy, Mrs. Palazzo-Dudick said.
